The Dutch M&A community (www.mena.nl) has nominated the FMTC transaction as “Best Small Cap Deal” for the 2018 Dutch M&A awards.
FMTC is a fast-growing provider of safety training programmes for offshore, maritime, wind and industry. After a number of years of growth in the Netherlands, FMTC was looking for an entrepreneurial, hands-on investor. One that could support management to realise further growth, in the Netherlands as well as abroad.
FIELDS recognised the national and international scalability of the business model as well as the value add that FIELDS could provide to realise the next growth phase together with management. FIELDS Group has acquired a majority stake, at the same time two minority shareholders exited, the founder kept a minority stake and management acquired a minority stake. Within a year new locations have been opened, including in the USA and revenues have significantly increased.
Why Rob Bruinsma – Founder of FMTC chose FIELDS: “After several years of growth in the Netherlands, I was looking for an entrepreneurial, hands-on investor who was able to support me and my team towards further growth, both in the Netherlands and abroad. I specifically chose FIELDS as, right from the start, they always asked the right questions, they managed to familiarise themselves with the sector very quickly and showed their commitment throughout the entire process. Working with this team gives us a new energy boost and I have not regretted my choice for one single moment. We opened new locations (among others in the US) within a year and have doubled our revenues.”
